Resources for teams
Student workbook
This workbook will lead you through the process to support you to develop your BiG Challenge business. It will also help you to identify specific skills you will be using and developing as you go.
You won’t be submitting this workbook, so use it as much or as little as you want. You may find it useful to refer back to when putting together your Reflective Journal.
Interim marketing competition entry form
This year there are four marketing awards available, and you can enter as many of the categories as you like – whether that’s all of them or just one or two.
Please send your completed form along with all relevant documents including logos/photos/posters/videos to bigchallenge@sheffield.gov.uk before 5pm on Friday 22nd November 2024 with the email subject containing your team name.
Make sure to answer all the questions in the relevant sections for your entry, and if you are entering more than one category, please send your entry form and all relevant documents in one email.
Getting started
1. Get your team together
Teamwork is all about working cooperatively with others, taking responsibility and supporting each other to achieve a shared goal – in this case, creating and selling your products and making a profit!
2. What is your BiG idea?
Creativity is the use of imagination and the generation of new ideas - in this case, coming up with new ideas for new products and services and creative ways of improving what you already have.
3. Make your product
Problem solving is the ability to find a solution to a situation or challenge – in this case, what is your product and how will you make it?
4. Promote and sell your product
Aiming high is the ability to set clear, tangible goals and devise a robust route to achieving them – in this case, effective planning, setting goals for yourself and your business and knowing what doing well looks like!
